My proficiency in myofascial release stems from obtaining Levels 1 and 2 certification under
the esteemed Ruth Mitchell-Golladay. This training enables me to utilize innovative
protocols 昀爀om the book *Equine Myofascial Kinetic Lines (Fascialines.com). Equine Myofascial Kinetic
Lines forProfessionals by Rikke M. Schultz,DVM,Tove Due,DVM,and Vibeke S. Elbrond, DVM,PhD.
I have also been deeply influenced by Liza Kimble's research on fascia and trauma release,
which includes co-authored studies with Dr. David Berceli (*Shake It Off Naturally*).
My current plan is to customize training and recovery for horses across disciplines and breeds always collaborating closely with their veterinarians, trainers, and owners.
I specialize in Myofascial Release-an approach that unlocks deep tissue mobility and function
by targeting fascia, the body's intricate connective tissue network. Fascia is now recognized as
a dynamic tissue that influences pain, posture, and movement. Often, horses may su昀昀er dysfunctions
in their Fascia. Such as densi昀椀cation, which is the thickening of the Fascia due to dehydration
or trauma. Or adhesion, referring to the sticking of the Fascia to surrounding tissues, and fibrosis; the
overgrowth of connective tissue. Therapists tailor their techniques based on the fascia type
and dysfunction, such as slow versus fast, and superficial or deep.
Research shows fascia connects internal organs to musculoskeletal systems, influencing balance and
motion. This supports a whole-horse or human approach, where gut health, breathing, and posture are
interlinked. I work on the kinetic chains that are mapped across the horses body;
this includes the 昀爀ont and hind limbs, spinals lines, and lateral lines.
These lines form the foundation for my rehabilitation strategies, supporting whole-body balance and
coordinated locomotion.
Additionally, I draw parallels between equine fascia and the Anatomy Trains model by
Thomas W. Myers. Myers' myofascial such as the Spiral Line, Functional Line, Arm Line, and Deep
Front Line understanding of human and equine movement and are adapted into my
horse-rider wellness protocols. These lines are backed by anatomical dissections and give insight into
the continuity of fascia across joints, muscles, and limbs.
